Make sure the goal(s) of you page are clear in your mind, and that the page is solving real problems for your guests.

1. What's the Goal of the page?

  • Is the purpose of the page obvious? (e.g., inform, inspire, sell, guide, engage)
  • Are call-to-action buttons easy to find and compelling?
  • What keywords, phrases and audience types are we targeting?

2. Think User-First

  • What problem(s) are we solving for the users?
  • Is the page easy to navigate and understand what to do next?
  • Is the wording / imagery clear, relevant and easy to understand?

3. Mobile-First Design

  • Does the page work well on mobile, tablet, and desktop?
  • Is text digestible, and broken up with images, horizontal scrollers or larger blocks?
  • Is there too much text? If so, consider using tabs, expanders or more pages.

4. Accessible for All

  • Are accessibility standards met, particularly avoiding overlaying text on busy images or any small / low contrast elements?
  • Do images have descriptive alt-text?
  • Are accessibility provisions clear and well communicated?

5. Functionality & Links

  • Are all links working correctly and pointing to the right destinations?
  • If there are booking links or offer codes, do these all work and click through to the right place?

6. SEO Optimisation

  • Are the page title, meta description, headers, and alt-text optimised for search engines?
  • Is the content aligned with relevant keywords and phrases identified on point 1?

7. Success Tracking

  • Is it clear how we can measure success for the page?
  • Are any new analytics or tracking updates needed to measure performance?
