The emergency alerts system in LOOP CMS is designed to provide quick and effective communication with guests during critical situations. This feature allows you to create and manage alert banners that are prominently displayed at the top of your website, ensuring important messages capture attention immediately.
(note this is sped up 30% but if you'd like the original that's here on Loom)
Creating the Alert Repository
- Alerts are managed within an "alert repository," which can be set up easily via the content node structure.
- To create an alert repository, select "alert message repository" from the node options, name it (e.g., "Alert"), and save it.
- The repository acts as a container for individual alerts.
Note that your site can only have ONE Alerts Repository per homepage. So only create a new one if you don't already have one in place.

Managing Alerts
- Alerts can be created by adding a new node under the alert repository.
- Customise each alert with content, activation dates, times, and active/inactive status.
- Icons can be added for visual impact, and links can be included for more details.
Pre-Set Messages
- Create pre-defined alerts for recurring situations, such as “Venue Full Today” or “Pre-Booking Required.”
- Pre-set alerts can be activated or deactivated as needed, allowing quick management by your team.
User Permissions
- Restrict access to the alert repository by assigning permissions via the user management section.
- Limit editing rights to specific users, ensuring control over content and quality.

Mobile-Friendly Design
- Messages should be concise to ensure readability on mobile devices.
- Text formatting and links can be used but should prioritise clarity for quick understanding.
The emergency alerts system is a powerful tool for managing time-sensitive communications while maintaining control over content quality and access.
